‘Remembering’

You might think this painting is about the excellent memory that elephants possess.

But what struck me as he started to emerge from the abstract background was that it was us humans that needed to remember.

We have forgotten that we are as much part of nature as the elephants are, yet we observe nature from a distance imagining ourselves to be objective observers.

Let us now remember how interdependent we are and that we only thrive if nature thrives alongside us.
